Solving Frequency Matching Challenges in Consumer Electronics: How JGHC's Custom Crystals Deliver Real Results
In today’s fast-evolving consumer electronics industry, demands for compact size, low power consumption, and high precision are growing stronger. One recurring technical challenge is frequency matching, especially during the early design phase. For products like Bluetooth earphones, smart wearables, or micro remote controllers, standard crystal oscillator frequencies often fail to meet system-level requirements.
Recently, JGHC Crystals received a request from a wearable electronics manufacturer in Shenzhen. Their Bluetooth audio module encountered unstable pairing and connection issues due to frequency drift caused by PCB layout constraints and internal MCU timing deviation. The standard 26MHz crystal they were using wasn’t stable enough under practical conditions.
After a thorough circuit analysis and communication with their R&D team, our engineers identified a frequency deviation of around 2.1 ppm due to the main chip and external thermal fluctuation. The ±10 ppm standard crystal could no longer meet the strict timing tolerance of their Bluetooth protocol.
We designed a custom crystal oscillator with the following specs:
Frequency: 26.000150 MHz
Accuracy: ±5 ppm (from -20℃ to +70℃)
Package: 3.2x2.5mm
Low startup voltage design
Our custom solution led to a 23% improvement in Bluetooth connection stability. The first-time pairing success rate increased from 82% to over 96%.
What the Client Said:
We initially thought it was a firmware issue, but it turned out the crystal’s frequency deviation was the real problem. Huge thanks to JGHC for the fast and precise custom solution
